Cody Heritage Museum – Artist Rendition of Remodeled DeMaris Building

Posted in CODY HERITAGE MUSEUM

We invite you to share in our vision of what the remodeled historic DeMaris Building in downtown Cody, Wyoming will look like. The DeMaris Building is the FUTURE HOME of the Cody Heritage Museum!

The Cody Heritage Museum began as a long-time dream of the Park County Historical Society. Many of the Society’s members are descendants of the earliest residents of Cody and are eager to share their inheritance of memorabilia with the community, as well as the many visitors that Cody entertains each year.

The Park County Commissioners have agreed to allow the Cody Heritage Museum Steering Committee to raise funds to renovate the DeMaris building as the venue for this museum. This building deserves to be preserved, as it was one of the first buildings to appear on Sheridan Avenue. Its location is perfect, as a destination for visitors not acquainted with our city, as well as residents of the Big Horn Basin. The artist rendering is what an architect has envisioned for the restored DeMaris building.

Cody and its surrounding area has a rich heritage of rodeos, working cattle and sheep ranches, dude ranches, oil and gas exploration, artists, and the close proximity of and association with Yellowstone National Park. We hope you will share in our enthusiasm and support for an idea long past its due time to appear in our community.
